Over the river and through the woods...

Every year, my family visits my Grandparents in Roanoke for a sort of second Christmas. They live in a huge, really cool house perched on a mountain looking out over fields and forest and a farm. Naturally, being surrounded by awesome landscape and nifty antiquey stuff, I had to bring my camera. Here're some of my shots.

This is Lilly. I feel like the fiveish days we were there I never saw her take off that hat. And granted, why would she?

Found this weird gyroscope thing on a shelf of old knick knacks.

As I was shooting this thing, the sun went behind a cloud right as I moved the gyroscope to a new position. I waited like ten/fifteen minutes with the nagging feeling that the sun had left forever, until finally BAM. I snapped the shot as quick as possible, and sure enough the sun peaced out almost right as I was done.

Found this magic egg

This is Max. He's my grandparents' tiny, incredible dog who just chills.

This is Will. We were searching for the source of this wacky noise that sounded like a large animal breathing really deeply. Never found it, sadly, but it's out there...

I told her to make a face and this happened. Boom.

Had a two-person Christmas party with this lovely lady today. Definitely the prettiest elf I've ever met.

Our delicious cookies

So Carley has to drink non-dairy milk and gave me some so I could see what it tasted like (she said it was pretty much like normal milk).
I took a sip and my taste buds were assaulted more than they've ever been. She asked, "Tastes just like regular milk, right?"
"I guess," I choked out, trying to be somewhat nice. Seeing my expression, she took a sip of her glass and her face scrunched up. Yes, she had poured me a glass of toxic spoiled sour milk. Gonna take a couple of weeks for me to trust her again.

All in all, our party was a blast. Thankfully, all two of us showed up. We watched Miracle on Something Street (neither of us can remember the number), she kicked my butt in Mario Cart, and we wore incredible hats. All in all, it was the best two person Christmas party I've ever been to.
